Its hard to resist a sunny warm day in February, so I headed out to one of my favorite local birding hotspots to see what's around. More than a dozen Great Blue Herons were a highlight, as was a boisterous pair of Bald Eagles, several small woodpeckers and other notable song birds were feeding in this beautiful freshwater wetland.
Here is my complete list:
Pied-billed Grebe
Mallard
Mourning Dove
Anna's Hummingbird
American Coot
Great Blue Heron
Bald Eagle
Red-breasted Sapsucker
Downy Woodpecker
Northern Flicker
